Internships

INTERNSHIPS : a word thats freaks a lot of students out!! I am not sure what students from other programs do but i know that FASHION students won't stop thinking about them!! Some students stress out so much about them and try to get an internship from the first or second semester, which is ok, is totally fine but you don't have to stress out and hurry to get one as soon as you start university. Other students are more relaxed and leave it until the 3rd or 4th year. Getting an internship from the first year doesn't necessary mean that you are going to have a great job and a carreer, you can have a great job even if you get your first internship at your 4th year!! The only reason that it has become such a big deal is because in fashion is good to have a taste from everything, meaning having internships from different kinds of jobs so in the end you can understand what you really like and would like to persuade  it in the future as a job. But RELAX...if you don't want to get an internship from the first year you don't have too!!! Don't get nervous if you see other people from your program getting internships...GOOD FOR THEM...every person is different..maybe they found the internship of their life..maybe they have extra time now and they know they won't be able to get one after so it is better for them to start from now. Maybe you are not psychologically ready and that is ok!! I don't know yet what i want..i have applied to a couple internships myself and will see..if i don't get them that's ok..i would much rather get hired at a job and make some money to pay my tuition than starting an internship! University is for 4 years and the time period to graduate is 8 years so even if after 4 years you passed all your classes but you still haven't done you internship...DON'T WORRY!!!
