Fashion behind the fancy lights..

Many people believe that the fashion industry is easy..well let me tell you..IT'S NOT!! Being a fashion student has been one of the hardest things i have done so far in my life..and i am pretty sure more challenges are waiting for me in the future in this industry. Fashion is not just fancy clothes and runway shows..fashion is everything behind those...it is the amount of hours that you spent infront of a sewing machine making a garment or the energy to plan an event,figure out your target market, your fabrics, the forecasting trends and colors. The 10-15 minutes that those garments have on the runway hide behind them hours of work, money and nervous breakdowns!!

Noone will truly understand what i am talking about if they do not go through it.

Before staring Ryerson this fall i had in mind that every morning i would put on my best outfit get all dressed up, take my little purse and go to school.

WRONG!!!

This morning i went to school with a pair of sweat pants and a hoodie after staying awake all night AGAIN finishing drawin my 24 daywear dresses.

You might ask " why didn't you manage your time better and start sooner? "

When you have 3-4 assignments due every week plus exams and quizs in between time management is VERY HARD. I had started at the 24 daywear dresses assignment a week ago and yes it took me that long to finish.

Drawing dresses sounds so much fun and it is, that is one of the main reasons to study fashion cause you like to draw or/and create garments, but when the professors tell you that you are only allowed to draw dresses that will ALL have collas(specific ones only), pockets and 3 munipulations(specific ones only again) it gets kinda hard to have fun drawing!

Fashion has it beauty as well, like the feeling that you get after finishing a garment and happiness, creating something of your one, making a beautiful design plate that could be published at a magazine, wearing your new, beautiful shoes and getting nice comments from people of how much they love them.

If you love fashion you have to be patient and a hardworker because without working you will get nowhere in this industry!!
